Can I Use Bio Oil On My Face?

By | June 22, 2014

faceI have just discovered this stuff and I also found out it contains vitamin A which as we all know is great for the skin so my question is has anybody used Bio Oil on their face? Is it ok to.

I have very fair skin which has been damaged somewhat from the sun. I am also starting to notice some fine lines and wrinkles around my eyes so I really think it would help. Any advice would be appreciated.

I used to use it on my face and it made me break out in spots, then I stopped.

I found that it kept the dry skin on my face really well hydrated

And did a great job at healing the scarring. Rubbing it on dry skin did not work however – too greasy. I now pat it on after washing while the skin is still wet.

I apply it as a moisturiser after applying my Retin A. My skin absorbs it very well and it looks better now than it did five years ago.

I would love to try it on mine but it is already really oily and I think that this will simply make it worse.

I have used it on my face for about 3 years and it’s great.

I first wet my hand and add a few drops of the oil and then massage it in. I used to have quite a lot of scarring on my cheeks which this has faded. Any new scars go really really quickly though.

Yes it is great for your face’s skin but unless you like having a greasy face all day you need to do what I do which is put it on at night and wash it off in the morning.

Wouldn’t it be better just to use vitamin E oil?

This stuff sounds like it will make your face really oily. Would your skin even be able to breath?

I guess it depends on your skintype. If you have fair, dry type (not oily) on your face then using Bio Oil may help restore the moisture balance. If you already have oily skin why would you want to add more?

I used to use rosehip oil, now I use this in much the same way but this is far more effective at smoothing scars, fine lines and wrinkles.

I would really like to know how goof it is a fading pigmentation, so let us know how it goes.

This product contains mineral oil.

I would not put mineral oil anywhere near my face or anywhere on my body for that matter.

I read somewhere that the mineral oil is so refined that it does not harm the skin and for me personally with normal/dry it works really well, I’ve never had a problem with it. I guess it depends on your skin type.

I tried it when I was younger (teenage) and I broke out really badly. I’ve tried it since (in my 20’s) and the experience was very different – no breaking out – scars and pimples fade a lot quicker.
